A Bell for a Departure to the Retirement

A bell was given to Chouieck Rachid who served the Paccard Foundry for 37 years. Chouieck was the bell polisher and cleaned and polished more than 15,000 bells that have been installed all over the world.

He left the business in good hands having trained his successor very well, and received the Medal of Honor from the Mayor of Sevrier, France for his work.

In this photo, Chouieck is surrounded by his family and the Mayor of Sevrier who had given him the medal of honor for his work.

  Liberty and History
The Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, PA is one of the most famous bells in the world, and first rang in the independence of the United States in 1776. Originally ordered for the government of Pennsylvania, the bell that was cast in London cracked just after arriving in the states, and John Stow and John Pass made cast a new bell from the bronze of the old one.

In 1950, the US government asked the Paccard Bellfoundry to make 55 replicas of the original Liberty Bell. Each state capitol has one, and so does the city of Annecy, home to the Paccard Bellfoundry.

Through our Campanuna store, you can also have a replica of the Liberty Bell (one-sixth of the original size).
